SMU, TCU and UH hopes of joining Big 12 take public hit

Any Big 12 hopes of SMU, TCU and Houston took a public hit Saturday. During an interview on ESPN’s College GameDay, interim Big 12 commissioner Chuck Neinas suggested that the conference would look outside the Lone Star State for expansion candidates. The Iowa straw poll last week didn’t pick any delegates, which will be done at the Iowa Caucuses on Feb. 6, but the poll began culling the herd of GOP candidates.
